Bordeaux, Dordogne Valley
October 2014
We flew to Paris and stayed in a small hotel in the Latin Quarter. After a leisurely 24 hours enjoying one of our favorite Paris neighborhoods, we took the TGV, high speed train, to Bordeaux. We joined our Notre Dame alumni tour to explore the beautiful,18th Century port of Bordeaux. We then traveled by bus to Sarlat-la-Canéda, a restored and preserved Medieval town. We lived there for a week and experienced village life in the Dordogne Valley. Restaurants. Wineries. Foie Gras. Lectures on the history and culture of the region. Restaurants. Wine tastings. Foie Gras. Caves with drawings and sculptures more that 15,000 years old. And....did I mention restaurants, wine and Foie Gras?
