Colorful Colombia!
January 2013
Cheryl spent three weeks in Boquete, Panamá, where she continued her Spanish studies. At the beginning of February, she flew to Bogatá and Jim joined her for ten days’ travel in Colombia. We explored Bogatá, the vibrant capitol with a rich colonial past. We flew to Armenia, located in the heart of the Coffee Triangle, Colombia’s best-known coffee production region. Toured a coffee plantation, a national park, Paso horse farm, and several charming small towns in the area before flying on to the beautiful, coastal city of Cartagena. Founded by the Spanish in 1533, this walled city on the Caribbean Sea was a major port and center of trade in Colonial times. Colorful, charming, fresh seafood, picturesque architecture, music. Delightful!
