In early December, we traveled to Egypt for ten days that included visits to the iconic monuments and temples and a five-day cruise on the Nile River. We visited ancient temples that were more than 4000 years old, some of which had been relocated to higher ground after the Aswan High Dam was built and Lake Nasser inundated their original location. We experienced the wonderful chaos of Cairo and the warm hospitality of Egyptians eager to share the culture and special beauty of their country.
