Tanzania
March 2011
We flew from Pittsburgh to Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. From there we traveled by Land Cruiser to Arusha, the gateway for Northern Tanzania safaris. We then spent a week in national parks and conservation areas where we experienced the beauty of Tanzania and its abundant wildlife. We flew from Arusha to the Tarangire National Park, flew to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, and then flew to the Serengeti National Park before flying back to Arusha. Use of the bush airstrips and small planes (maximum of 12-passengers) let us spend a week in the parks on game drives with an expert trip leader and driver/guides. Their knowledge enhanced our trip by teaching us about the animals, birds, and flora as well as the history and culture of this fascinating part of the world.
